Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Most stores will be down to one ASM and lp and hr will become regional or district-related and will cover many stores

So, the latest is the specialists cease to be specialists but instead become CSA 4's which will saddle them with additional responsibilities such as keys and codes, etc. because they will become team leaders (ostensibly department managers).

Most stores will be down to one ASM and lp and hr will become regional or district-related and will cover many stores. Personally, I think open positions will remain unfilled and the intention is to shrink Lowe's stores to as few employees as possible with takeover target in mind or else merger in the works. Walmart has been buying stock as corporate has been selling.

There is also Menard's, which is very small compared to either Lowe's or Depot.

Our Installed sales manager is gone today and they will not fill his spot. Even though no official announcement made for their future. Kind of funny how you can find out what is going on before it's announced..

I'm starting to believe all the downsizing bull that's being put through here. Our HR manager was let go yesterday. And they did not repost the job to offer it to anybody else. That gives more leverage to the rumors that have been circulating that they plan to centralize HR and LP and get rid of specialist.

LNS received keys with the first restructure. Look at the key matrix....

I am an ASAP and have heard nothing but rumors concerning all of this. I could see the specialist being reduced in number because there are several specialist positions that are not needed. I also think there needs to be something to bridge the gap between CSAs and SSMs. There should be an associated pay increase if that is the case. Time will tell.

Key matrix was updated after the restructure which gave keys to the lns. If they are bringing back a team lead the individuals will have to apply for the job it will not automatically default to a csa 4. Could be the same issue though where dm's that became ssm's only because they had no choice and didn't want the responsibility or were never really qualified for it which created a bunch of turnover and process and service issues

I was a specialist, had a key....did not want one!! It was very time consuming!! Plus, there are too many managers telling you to do different things...be on the same page!!!

Part of the problem is there is no team work!!! If you ask the lazy loaders to help they say...'yeah, uh hu,yeah I'll get to it.'. However, these people have time to huddle and chit chat. Now that is where they need to cut, all the lazy, a** people hiding, talking or talking on their phone, which is suppose to be a no no. Ha!!

I wish the best for everyone concerned!!

Management lied about the DM's and ASM's

I received an email on my Lowe's account stating that health insurance (and maybe other insurance and benefits) will soon be or are already online at a new web site. This would lend credence to the HR positions in stores going away. We can never find our HR person anyway; the lights are out and no one is home.

Our live nursery specialist already has keys to the gate(s), propane cages, and trash compactor. Who knows what else she has. I asked her about and she said she was just "given" the keys and told not to say anything. This was around the time of the great purge; ASM's down to three and DM's to service managers.

I hope Lowe's doesn't make CSA4's department leads. We only have one full-timer in my department and he is very lazy. Can't imagine him being in charge, what would get done would be done by the rest of us while he kisses a--.

Maybe things will be better if WlaMart owned Lowe's; WalMart is damn successful.

This is happening regardless of what people think. Corporate is going to lie to everyone like they did in January. They will keep serving Kool aid until the day changes are made. Start planning your resume updates, it's going to get Rocky.

I have heard it, we have all suspected HR is going to a district one, and we just heard the other day that they are gonna get rid of Specialists and there gonna make a position called (what I was told) a CSA 5 not 4. And I too heard that some of these CSA 4's would be key carrying. But I don't understand why a person supposed to be selling to a customer is expected to have a key to unlock gates. But we have already heard half of this at work.
