Jerusalem NDS office

Is the Jerusalem NDS office closing? I heard the sad news about the former black hat team and Haifa office. Regardless, my condolences to my many friends in Israel if you are dismissed by Cisco. It was apparent to me from their $5Billion US purchase they had no clue going forward how to continue the dynamic technology, human resources and entrepreneurial spirit of the originator of digital management of customer's revenue streams. N'shallah all of my former colleagues will quickly land on their feet with new and better employment by a company that respects and honor;s it's employees. Y'all ah bye!

Does anybody know if there is any credence to this rumor by @O5Mg1wg-qdb?

Don't hold your breath. The article says absolutely nothing. In fact it just restates all the stuff NDS was already doing when acquired by Cisco.

Why Jerusalem xNDS office should survive when all xNDS is dying?

The Jerusalem office will share the fate of his brothers of In, UK, Fr, S K, US, etc...

Cisco is blooding us, all of us, until death.

And yet Cisco tried/failed to encourage Abe to return and 'save the Cisco company (and Cisco $5B USD buy) investment after 4 Cisco executives failed to figure out how to continue NDS continued profits since inception. Then Cisco decided to remove the senior managers (to save $) so the bottom line would seem to grow after a 'one-time' expense... Hope Jerusalem survives August...

I think NDS had been touted for IPO, but all the feedback was poor, then Cisco appeared on the scene with lots of money and made an offer they couldn't refuse. Cisco aquistion team is very good at turning mountains of cash into molehills.

It still made no sense. Netflix eats bandwidth and so Cisco sells gear to Telcos, without Cisco buying Netflix. Also NDS was predominantly satellite broadcast focused. We were not the best when it comes to OTT or cable.

And finally our sales model did not fit Cisco, nor did our culture, and Cisco never credited us with any of that pull through that they supposedly bought us for. It just was not a logical acquisition.

Cisco wanted to leverage their video market positioning, since video is eating most of internet bandwith. And they acquired the best (aka NDS).

But it not work well. Not at all...

Who to blame?

Given this was a terrible decision, are the executives, lawyers, accountants & other decision makers who made the call held accountable ? Where are they now ?

NDS also made STB software and headend software. But it was predominantly for satellite broadcast and so a terrible fit for Cisco.

Cisco really didn't know what the hell they were buying, even though what we did was public knowledge. Clearly they simply did not understand the market.

NDS didn't 'make' cable boxes. NDS supplies +100,000,000 access cards around the world to customers who want to secure their revenue streams (among other high demand product, middle ware, etc.). It was apparent Cisco did not do their due diligence on NDS before eating it up for US $5B. The referred to Gaurdian article was a laugh re accuracy. NDS was sued, won had the verdict appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court... the plaintiff Dish Networks lost and wrote a check to NDS for almost $20,000,000 for NDS legal fee's to defend itself against the law suit. History! Still, Cisco was not aware of this when they bought the company according to their reaction when they discovered the litigation! Unbelieveable...

So NDS made really good cable boxes. What was the vision that made people see a synergy with a routing & switching company ? How was this merge/acqusition supposed to make more money, that when they were independent.
