Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Any inside information on UK layoffs this year?

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything yet and whether I should bother making backup plans?

It's about time. Complete waste of space adding zero value to the actural sales performance. A few have already jumped before being pushed, so might help others avoid the chopping block.

common problem across Cisco, without revenue growth or falling revenue can't comp managers on revenue, only on profits which can only be grown by laser focused investment in strategic areas . When is the last time in SPVS you did any new business which grew revenue?

Why oh why do the d---beat 100% bonused leaders not get whacked? Enough is enough. Failed business plan calls for someone to fall on her sword. Poor CC, nice bloke, handed a poison chalice at IBC 2015 by her majesty. I saw the look on his face - he looked excited. Little did he know what a crock he was given. Her first year BP was to fire loads of people. Nice little bump to the bottom line, gets promoted and hands the problem to her underling.

Looks Like another round soon (within 12 weeks), due to shortfall on targets within the SP App Group. Well at least consultation already is in place so should be easy to do

Looks like I'm safe then..... For now at least.

But these are only for the 1100 announced at the last earnings call. I'm more worried about the numbers announced at the end of the year when Chuck has to tell the markets we have declined for the full year. He'll have to give them something to show he's trying to retain net profit levels and that means heads. If last years 14,000 was quickly adjusted to 7,000 when the markets showed that was too drastic, is it safe to say we'll probably see 7,000 again this year?

My concern is with Brexit looking very weak for the UK, are the ELT going to preempt a slow down in investment in the UK and take a bigger cut from us this year?

I've already got customers moving data enters and application out of the UK and will not be investing the same levels here anymore.

A move to Ireland might be the answer.
