Hardware SEs update - Our whole team has one-on-one meetings with our manager on June 1st.
Odd thing is - we make our numbers and get nothing from PaaS or SaaS .

What SE stands for?
Been in the industry for almost 40 years. Always the same. You are just a piece of meat that can be tossed out at any time. Does not matter how great your work is. Just a fact of life. My parents always had a Union to protect them. They never saw this kind of crap during their careers.
I hate to be overly cynical, but the previous post about the futility of what used to be consistently rewarded and encouraged in the working world in the current corporate zeitgeist is right. It's just a job. And it's likely not even a very good job. Don't sacrifice too much for it.
Read posts from other companies and you'll see that working hard, making numbers, getting great reviews, and sacrificing your life mean nothing in the new corporate climate, circa 2017.
In fact, many would say those things are a detriment to job security.
