After Eddies meltdown and the resulting firestorm of criticism at the shareholders meeting how can you blame them for not wanting to answer questions about decisions and policies that make no sense to any sane person much less a publicly traded company. Good move SHC
Shouldn't be public knowledge? This is a public company sir. Concepts of fiduciary duty seem lost on you.
"I think you are asking him to disclose things that aren't public knowledge and shouldn't be public knowledge."
Of course we are. That's why there is a whole process around quarterly earnings conference calls; there is a press release beforehand announcing the time and an open access dial-in number so all investors can listen at the same time and there is no selective disclosure to any one analyst or investor and audio replay and transcripts are available afterwards. EVERY SINGLE REAL COMPANY DOES IT. I doubt there is one S&P 500 company that does not...
@1gjx - I think that he is asking him to be forthright and honest! Alas, that isn't going to happen.
I think you are asking him to disclose things that aren't public knowledge and shouldn't be public knowledge.
Hmm....no need to swear. Once again we have no idea.....I honestly dont think Eddie hides. What more can he say? What more is there to say?
Walmart CEO speaks to the media after the call. Eddie hides
Pre-recorded calls are an extreme rarity, and for a publicly traded company not to answer analyst questions is unheard of. Tells you what a $hit show this is.
I just read that Walmart does pre recorded conference calls as well,
Don't ya just love it? SHLD hides from its own shareholders. Sure, Eddie and Bruce are in the majority between the two, but there are some smaller fish that deserve a chance to ask questions and raise concerns.
How many other publicly traded companies shelter themselves when it comes time to do an earnings announcement?
Conference calls always pre-recorded? No - only for failing companies like Sears that are too scared to own up to their mistakes and poor decisions
Thanks! Appreciate the time frame. I believe these are always pre recorded, so I am not sure why that irritates someone.
What's the point of a pre-recorded call? Just release a text document. A conference call implies there is a conversation going on with questions being answered.
For those interested in when that would be, since the original poster would have you look that up yourself, it is this Thursday before the markets open.
Pre-recorded ?? Wth ??? So that's for no one to ask any good questions regarding the future. What else can be said about this company
