Way back, there used be a program named 'Cisco on Cisco' that enabled ciscoites to test the products or technology internally first, is that program shelved or gets done only on papers or power point presos?

The new head of SP Marketing is a woman from a drug company = WTF? I once lived in a country where layoffs were decided by "social points" (still done in many European countries). Young singles were seen as more flexible (e.g. Able to move to a new city for work), married people, those Middle Aged and up, especially those that supported a family with single income were seen as having more social points. As young and unmarried, i got laid off, and my older married colleagues were saved. The process was quite transparent, but that's the way it was decided.

NOT TRUE that women are protected at Cisco. The (now former) ex-military mysogenist head of SP Marketing kept his crew of butt kissing yet grossly incompetent male buddies. In fact during the Aug 16 LR, he disproportionately got rid 90% of the G12 women in the org. His logic...Cisco married men (even if they have single digit IQs and do nothing but jerk off) with families to support should have the jobs, women are only capable of cooking/cleaning/crying. Did HR stop him? Nope! Did his British female boss stop him? Nope!! Did these LRed women seek legal counsel? Hell yeah! The SP Mktg turd got moved into a token job in Cisco Gov't Affairs. They should have fired the guy and all his s-xist piss-boy direct reports who sadly remain in SP Mtg. As for the Brit female who let this happen? She is reviled across her org and a colossal failure - a perfect fit with the rest of the ELTers.

Not true that just white males are targeted. I know of a group (not mine) that formerly had only 3 females out of 15 people. Two were LR'ed, both were female.

I don't trust my management. They don't look out for me or my peers, they're really in this for themselves. They've got no interest in helping their employees develop their careers, as they take our ideas and promote them as their own rather as something developed by their team. Decisions are still made behind closed doors and transparency is just a term my professors used to describe slides and not the Cisco Way.

The internal environment is toxic and at best untrusted when it comes to airing actual, real grievances. Do that and you will be put "on the list" by the PC / Progressive groupthink types that inhabit the hallowed halls. If you are female: protected class. Indian: protected class. Non-White: protected class. But if you have a ton of experience, are white, and male -- you survive under a laser beam of inspection, as if performance really matters -- because they are going to dispose of you as soon as the legal eagles produce a bullet proof exit document. They just want you gone.

There are tons of internal surveys that are done, but frankly, they are gamed by pretty much everyone that I have talked to about it. They only serve to produce a certain metric that is likely tied to a Sr VP bonus.

So -- "trust the in-house process?" Uh huh.

And btw -- life outside of CSCO is fantastic.....

If I had 5 persons in my household, and I one day I publicly announce one of them is gonna be kicked out soon, and don't say which one nor when, should they be ashamed about discussing my decision in the front-yard? Are they are the ones to blame that the whole neighborhood is avoiding borrowing sugar from me because they are concerned about my sanity and financial situation?

The lies being told are now so frequent that the truth is no longer clear. This happened before current CEO as well. Everything is great, down 5%.
