I had a recruiter contact me saying that the Spark team was hiring. I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of going back to Cisco, but work is work and there's not a lot of other jobs in town for my skill set and not moving is always a plus so I sent in my resume.
Never heard back, so it makes me wonder if they're truly hiring or not.
Not true, Cisco is still hiring.
I had a Cisco contact me today about yet another internal opening at the Director level. She was the second one in the past two weeks. I think that it depends on the skill set.
All the reqs have been pulled. There are no jobs. Pretty much a total hiring freeze across the board in Cisco now. Q4 will be worse as they try to claw back money for a projected -5% quarter.
Dont raise your hope on that. They called me too had a talk with an engineer and hiring manager and they were going ahead with the next steps then total silence. No news nothing!
The sooner Spark is flushed down the crapper the better. If that spells the end of RT at the helm of collaboration then that is not necessarily a bad thing either in my opinion. He has already set himself up with a fallback nest in the IOT space anyway but not making any great waves there either from what I can see.
