Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Where is Follett's Answer to This?

Pearson and Chegg Announce Partnership to Make Textbooks More Affordable for College Students

They have this same agreement with Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

Why would Follett miss the boat again? Follett is always the last one to the party. Not a peep from the ivory tower and rush is right around the corner. My store is always at a disadvantage.

The issue is Pearson is only renting these texts so unless you are in the program, you cannot rent them. In addition, the pricing is way lower because there is no new/used market to screw the life of the title. Pearson/bookstore will be able to rent them for many more cycles because there will be few new editions. This is a great idea. Everyone comes out ahead....except Follett who does not appear to be in the game.

Uh, I heard about this in January from my rep and I'm sure I saw something official about it. I was not excited about managing consignment.
