Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Frontier buying California wireline?

There's a rumor going around that once the contract it's ratified (either with this agreement or another one) AT&T will start the process of selling the copper wireline to frontier, does anyone know anything about it? Will this include the fiber that they're rolling out also? I know frontier took over At&t wireline somewhere in the east, anyone from there that knows how that went?

I think Randall has some admirable qualities and I don't think he's a liar. Sorry, I don't think the name calling is appropriate. There is significant evidence on his actions since becoming CEO to show his character is anything but what is represented in some of these posts:

  • He promotes diversity and encourages employees to see past cultural differences to seek to understand one another other (promoted Black Lives Matter movement at employee resource group conference in 2016)

  • He's vocal about social issues (internally and externally) and doesn't need to be, investing significant sums of money into the ERG initiatives

-He's the force behind employee retooling efforts, offering FREE education to any employee willing to invest in themselves to be more marketable in the 21st century.

I believe his actions show that he truly cares. I don't think it's fair to judge him by layoffs. These are inevitable. Certain functions will no longer be necessary. Some jobs won't exist any longer. But if you take advantage of the resources afforded, that won't be a concern to you. And he's made it easy for anyone with enough ambition.

He's a passionate leader and is also the President of Boy Scouts of America, an organization that lauds exceptional character and the value of telling the truth. He gives freely his time to that organization because he believes in these ideals. I think calling him a liar and full of "BS" fails to tell the whole story, even if you don't like some of the decisions being made.
