Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Not bad, but can be much better

After seeing some of the comments here I must say that most of the things that's been said are true.

First of all, Intel is not that bad of a place to work and there are a lot of good hardworking people in here.

However, it's obvious that they practice nepotism in this workplace although I see nothing wrong with it. But in doing so, they tend to hire people who are not " so called" qualified for a position and they base their hiring judgement just because somebody is related to someone in the company- and that's pretty crappy and waste of money for Intel in my opinion.

And I think this is where the "clique" starts. Take for instance one of the high up managers on one of the departments here has this "assistant" and this person does nothing but read newspaper or magazine or maybe order some food when there is a meeting but that is it.

In fact this said assistant "resigned" from the job to spend summer with their child but the position was NEVER posted for an opening because the boss "saved" it for when this person came back and work for Intel again after resigning.

So basically, this assistant resigned for the summer and then came back when the school started back up. That is BS to me. How can someone allowed to do that?! And why would HR even approved it? This is where the grey area in this company's ethics.

If they do like you, I guess you're safe otherwise you're S.O.L. Is sad to see a good company that is being run by people who exploit their privileges. I hope the administration will re-structure things that need to be fixed.

Just my two cents of thoughts.

Look up "ethics reporting" on outlook and send them the details. If what you report is true, then you won't mind reporting it.

...and lots of people heads-down, busting their butts got walked for the crime of being "successful" last year. I've gotta believe that these clowns are getting good FOCAL results... Meritocracy at its finest.

We're in the midst of the bozo explosion. B players hiring C players who get management roles. After two decades of that, there's a deep swamp to clear. Our leadership doesn't have the balls to do what's really needed. Enter the death spiral.

Yeah this happens all over IoTG esp in Arizona under Doug Davis watch... Lots of marketing/operation/pgm management people have jobs only show up 2 or 3 days weekly for 4 or 5 hours... Would have been nice if new VP or Murthy clean up house.. but he's a puppet....
