Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike - where careers go to die.

What is interesting, the decision makers (C-Suite) who got Nike in this bad position (actually this occurred before) still maintain their positions. T

he problem is on the top floor not with the people they are laying off. The continue to make bad business decisions yet terminate the non-decision makers.

Overall, Nike is a great company managed by a bunch of sycophants.

Across the board workforce reductions, however, generally mean there's a disconnect between middle and upper management. Upper management can't go around scrutinizing every team's headcount, so they don't start to notice the problem until there's already substantial bloat. And they can't rely on middle management to make more surgical reductions, because middle managers were the ones who f---ed up in the first place. So you see layoffs. Any company where the prestige and influence of a manager is tied to the size of their team is going to run into this eventually, since enough managers will choose their own best interests over the business's.

Yes she was a horrible leader yet is still promoted to senior director coming from the banking world just like the VP completely ruined the culture or at least had major contributions in doing so. Steer clear from tech until they fully run it into the ground are finally let go. uncle Phil would be ashamed if he saw the state of his legacy right now.

I am not sure but I have heard incompetent leadership was promoted to senior director. Entire staff under quit. Not laid off. Quit. Yet promotion still happened.

Only a sycophant can climb to the top of a Fortune 500 - so, by default, all large corporations are the same
