cheaper per capita but those heads in India need to ramp which will take a few years, had a lot of blind hiring due to sheer volume of people so overall capability of that team is less at the moment ... or so the word is. this move looks like it could backfire

How much busy work/verification is needed for the R&D process for SoC? If it can be done cheaper in India it makes sense to move that work there if top tier talent isn't required for all phases of R&D work.

Outsource (or try) everything you can. I think a lot of SSG and other service groups will go there. It's a foot in the door for India to prove itself. I am doubtful that they can innovate within Intel's weird culture, but all the power to them if they succeed. Improve the stock price before I completely cash out.
