Thread regarding Sears layoffs

We need support and a prayer

Some were sad, others were mad, some others were glad to go. None of it was good. At a blink of an eye, these people had jobs when they went home last night and now they don't.

There is some talk about an exodus, at least among us, the mid-level employees at HQ. we need to get out while we have a chance, before we come in one morning and we are shown the door. That's what I am doing and I am encouraging my coworkers to do the same.

I am thinking about running a kind of "support group" because I don't like seeing so many hopes and dreams shattered before everyone's eyes. I want to work together to get us out of here and on to better things.

Prayers, prayers, prayers. We need prayers for everyone. Pray for a resolution.

God bless.

God bless? Sorry, but I don't think the man upstairs (God) cares one way or another about Sears Holdings.

Prayers? That's not going to help either. I like how there's some people on here who attempt to bring their faith into these things and think it will make a world of difference.

It won't. Once you're done with a company you need to move on and focus on you and whatever company you work for next. That's what I did two and a half years ago. And have not looked back.

God and prayers are not going to help anything.

I am glad prayers give you comfort. The theme of so many store employees is they don't give a flip and a large number are not working for their pay anymore.

The constant lies..There going down to a few hundred stores and those stores will turn it around overnight. Ok really. We need to open our eyes and realize that the CEO has a plan and it don't include the hard workers of this sinking ship. And a ship with no life jackets should be a sign....

Anyone who works for Sears Holdings should have considered themselves "put on notice" at least 2 years ago that their job was in jeopardy so all this angst and shock is really over the top. How many smacks upside the head does it take for you to realize the type of employer you work for. Where do you see yourselves in two years?

Always keeping all that work for Sears Holdings (Sears and Kmart) in my prayers... especially the ones impacted. I pray for those who are still left to do the impossible and I pray for all of your families.

To every associate: you are all amazing all across the country/company I just wish they could see your value.

As I watch a family member struggle to keep up with the never ending demands, I see you all in this person. You are prayed for and appreciated.
