Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

IF there is going to be anouther layoff anytime soon and that's a big IF

So much talk on here about dell laying of this person because of long time status or what not. Rather sad--- what I personally think is: they need to start with the attitude problems:

• I see SO MANY people with massive holier–than–thou attitudes from management to staff that just need to "get over themselves". Everybody is replaceable - regardless your background!!

• so many rude people - who can't even say thank you much less a hello vs staring at your phone or the floor -- yes it's tech but that does mean social skills should go down the toilet

• managers who can't acknowledge or introduce themselves to new people on the team (cause nothing speaks leadership skills quite like that....) or hold very unprofessional work conversations in their cubes so everybody can hear it. Can't tell you how many times I've heard management and others complain about other employees or straight up put them down.

• there just seams to be more and more snobby people working there. And that's just sad!!

welcome to Dell we are always hiring because we are always firing.People are out of F to give. so if you are new and creative go F yourself we don't care, we hire you so we can blame you and have you fired instead of us. yipee

Tell Dell is too dangerous as many employees including me at one point are under false assumption that their their voice is heard.

They survey says it's confidential, which is not true.

It will never reach Michael Dell, but sure will reach your manager as directors/VP's will share and you will be laid off.

It's a great controversy and one day all managers/directors/executives will be exposed. Just believe in god and justice.

True Tell Dell seams like a joke!! Worthless as well as sending out the so called, "confidental" 360 reviews. Their not private when the manager is sending them out and you have to answer too them. It's a constant circle of issiues. I think they need to send a lot of managers to how to manage classes - I've seen a lot of management and scratch my head and WHY or HOW are they in this position. Oh well. Like the other person said unless it's painfully obvious / more then likely will stay as is.

Very true. Unfortunately Managers become mini tyrants and dictators. Tell Dell wouldn't help much as the Managers use them to target non conforming employees. We have seen this behavior in Dell Storage Bangalore. In large companies like Dell attitude problem can't be tracked and no feedback mechanism is available. Tell Dell is one mode but it is misused.
