Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What is Cisco's SDN strategy?

A bit convoluted, so hoping to hear some responses. And if it's ACI, how that fits into SDN.

but seriously.. Anyone played with the intend based network stuff they released ? Sounds like cutting edge technology, but not sure what it offers and entails inorder to get the promised heaven

ACI is an attempt to keep bread-and-butter HW revenue going and delay customers bolting to SDN. Unfortunately, all significant users of Cisco products already decided on SDN.

From the tech disruptor to the disrupted.

The next couple of years are going to be a hell of a ride at Cisco...

So what is 'intent based networking'?

"Well, I really intended for the packet to reach its destination. What? It didn't make it? My bad."

I guess it's a strategy of sorts.

The Networking strategy is now actually quite compelling. At last some innovation and clear execution.

When a marketing strategy becomes the actual name of the product, trouble awaits. Maybe call it DOA

DNA is the strategy and backed by Intent Defined Networking, not SDN.

The strategy that is working and selling is Meraki. The others are science projects at the point.
