Forgot to mention I work in the high end storage so you have no clue
I work in Hop and I can say sure as shi# I dont get a free paycheck. My job is quite stressful. Not to sure what you do. Pretty obvious your the type that needs to go
Equallogic folks are getting free package. Our director told us last week not to worry as equallogic is still selling and making money. We are all sitting idle and not even fixing bugs. Wonder how long the party will last.
All slides and no code is an apt description of these so called techies. They're times that I interacted with them on technical issues and found them lacking in basic storage knowledge. In my whole experience I have never seen such incompetent people in high positions. They have a few favorites who are equally useless. These two are powerful because they decide on appraisal and pay hikes of all our engineers and the director is an idiot who knows nothing and spends time in photography.
BDC storage so called technologists come to office once in a week to catch up on the gossip. Other times they are busy working from home. The engineers are exasperated by their high handedness.
This sounds like all fun and no accountability. Only slides and no code.
The ancient Romans had a tradition: whenever one of their engineers constructed an arch, as the capstone was hoisted into place, the engineer assumed accountability for his work in the most profound way possible: he stood under the arch. (Quote by - Michael Armstrong)
All I can hope for these directors is that Rogaine treatment works.
BDC is not low cost. There are highly paid directors and so called principal engineers who will never get these kind of high paying easy jobs or rather jobs with no work. Most of these folks are old men in their late 50s with no clue on technology and industrial trends. They can be seen hanging out in Dell 5 cafeteria and meeting rooms talking about their retirement and investment plans.
Tell me about it, in NDC storage just in QA there are so many directors.
There are directors replying to directors who are in turn reporting to directors. Too much of flab in the system.
Agree with @NGhXn9c-1icy. Most of the dead weight is in the useless layer of managers who are directly responsible for hosing stockholders, the company, employees and customers. It has been nothing more than a 20-year frat party funded by big fat company expense accounts. What I have personally seen makes me sick and the collusion and extensive cover-ups make me even sicker. Two words come to mind: orange jumpsuits.
Dell-EMC if at all they are serious about cost reduction should clean up the top layers. Senior managers and above. They are the money s---ers. No point in targeting low end engineers.
So does NDC, what's the difference. It's just obsolete EqualLogic and Compellent products. What is there to work on other then collecting pay check. I can't reveal names but for the past few years few employees in NDC are doing second job. In fact that's primary job and Nashua Dell is secondary job.

I completely understand what you are saying. It's more applicable to lot of employees including me, honestly I feel it's bad money to spend on my kids. Every currrently employee from EqualLogic Nashua feels the same way.

What about BDC storage. The low cost low quality team. How long can these jokers bluff around and not get caught. Can't write intelligible and workable code. Unprofessional management whose only mode of survival is fake presentations of accomplishments through which they have fooled Hopkinton to work on projects which they can never deliver.
Just pretend like you're a manager, milk it and laugh all the way to the bank every payday... maybe it will continue your entire career like it has for most of EMC's managers.
