There are so many positions that can be eleviated. We have several groups duplicating efforts. Doesn't make sense that we have so many non-essential functions/position.
You can walk through the manufacturing ares and there is virtually no activity whatsoever.
You can walk through the cubicle areas, and employees are doing nothing. Surfing the Internet, playing games or just flat out walking around making it look like they are doing something.
There is only a handful of employees that are actually getting work done.
People won't leave, why would they? Here they are getting a paycheck to do nothing.
Then we have the complainers who are doing something and complain about the ones that don't. But they get a descent wage so why would they leave.
I know so many people here that are looking for jobs, but they can't find another job that will pay them what they are making here. We have a lot of people that are overpaid for what they actually do. That's why they are hanging on and won't leave......
I don't blame them, just hang in there until they find another job or get laid off. Management is too stupid to see what employees are not performing and/or they have family and friends that they simply won't fire. Then you have HR that has to be political about how they go about hiring and firing.
Get edumicated and find a better job altogher..... big oil field service companies are simply too damn political, time have changes so much, that the degree is the new high school diploma and 45,000.00 a year is the new 80,000.00 a year.

The way that our management, or shall I say, mis-management, operates, is very dismal to say the least.
We have managed to implement process and have written and re-written processes. It seems that they way they manage is to implement another process and re-invent the wheel.
All the while, we have lost focus on our products and services that we provide.
HR and HSE certainly reaped the bennifits and secured a position within the company, they are the entity that will make us feel good and keep us safe!!! Meanwhile our hands are tied and we can't even walk from the parking lot to the damn bathroom without someone doing an HOC because they thought or felt that something was done wrong.
Don't have any open discussions about anything for fear someone might take offense to the content of your personal conversations, you might come off as being out of line for making someone else feel uncomfortable, then you can get written up or walked out the gate!!!!!
We are at a point that we waiste more time, effort and funding on the gymnasiums, cafeterias, day cares and the things to coddle to employees. I am waiting for the safe space rooms and prayer rooms.... It coming, and when it does, you know that Halliburton is finished.

It seems that we have experienced the culture change over the years. We went from being a company that was people and product driven with excellent business integrity, to a company that is process driven where a monkey can run a PSL. The conservative business values have been exchanged for a liberal business value.
The older hands that Built Halliburton, have been and are almost all gone, replaced with uneducated liberal snow flakes that just want to be coddled.
Halliburton is going through a culture change, look at the successful oil field service companies. They are not run like we are and don't have an inexperienced management.

They'll never eliminate RES. That's where the big brass keeps their extra money from charging more for floor space than they should. RES is an unwitting pawn in the money game. They cut their budgets but not our rent. Where does that extra money go? For things like their yacht, deer lease, duck hunting camp, etc. Apparently our customers don't have COBC or they wouldn't be able to accept the gifts that run into the tens of thousands of dollars. A 3 day hunt on our deer lease is said to cost over $20K. Think Halliburton is okay with you accepting a gift like that?
We should get effective and efficient. And we should get rid of everything mentioned below.

GE doesn't have a Real Estate Services group, it is contracted out by CBRE, and they do an excellent job. No space rates, no BS beourocracy associated with that group and they answer to the procurement group.
GE has been successful I would say, at least they were able to negotiate a deal with BH.
BH has a group similar to our real estate services, but, they are much smarter and that don't have all the beourocracy either.
Halliburton on the other hand, our Real a estate Services group is a big money laundering scam to say the least. If you only knew all the shady crap that the management does, several of these executives would be in prison.
Yes, Real Estate Services should go away immediately.
But it won't happen because the way that the finance ministers a structured.
They hide profits, basic in house laundering scheme, and is a slush fund for the executives, politicians and bribes. Same thing that ol'Davy boy did at Enron....... Nothing is going to change until we hit rock bottom, get brought out and re-structure all together.
Halliburton has a cancer, and it is going to take a miracle to pull out of this slump.
Right now they still have a lot of assets to sell and layoff.
