Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

How is everything in Bartlesville?

We continue to be asked how our groups could combine and if combined how many duplicate positions could be eliminated. It appears that as they ready EC-4 for us they are laying it out to accommodate future corporate structure and numbers. It appears Bartlesville functions will be coming to Houston but no clue on how many people. Is Bartlesville having meetings and being asked similar questions?

Wrong again.

Look at the Phillips 66 layoffs site. Those people, who are also obviously from Bartlesville, don't spew the same b---s--- seen on this board. It is easy to deduce those on this board who sling the hate are not from Bartlesville.

Bartlesville creates Bartlesville haters! Bartlesville has been dishing it out for a long time now it's their turn to get some of their own treatment. No one will miss them and no one will feel sorry for them.

You all sound like a clucking hen house. Get back to work. If there's nothing to do, go look for work. If you can't do that, then you're not helping the company and deserve to be let go.

To all the Bartlesville haters - you're obviously bitter and feel like you must put others down for your own personal gain. Not a good way to live life.

Many in Ponca City believe what goes around comes around for Bartlesville. Many in Bartlesville showed no compassion and were down right nasty. Watch how the rats turn on each other as this plays out! We didn't wish this upon them but they certainly earned it! We won't be shocked when they return to being their nasty selves and begin stabbing each other in the back.

I heard a group talking yesterday and from what I heard we are done!. If selling a house is as bad as I have heard I will be faced with letting the bank have it or commuting from this horrible little town and Tulsa.

What do you think it's like in Bartlesville? We are office staff so we can't escape to the field, hide out, and forget, like most of you do! We have to come in, hang our heads down so we don't draw attention and pretend to be busy all day. The chatter is relentless and deafening! I keep thinking "the way you eat an elephant is one bite st a time". When this ends I will be free but for now I am caught up in it and determined to see how it plays out. Good luck to you good folks in Canada and San Juan, I know it's the same for you.

I agree that there is a lot of "chatter" I keep hearing mixed beliefs. Some believe that there is no way

Conoco is leaving Bartlesville, but I have a hard time believing that, to me the writing is on the wall and it makes sense financially, whether we like it or not. I just wish they would go ahead and let us know instead of stringing us along for the next 6 months to a year worrying if we will have jobs and be able to support our families. That part is not fair, but most of us can't afford to leave a job that pays so well if we don't know for sure. Is anyone that knows the truth, courageous enough to post on here? Probably not.

We are not being told much in Bartlesville other than 270 - 300 associated with recent asset sales will be laid off. Unofficially we hear all kinds of chatter like our supervisors are making list
