So will there be Houston c---roaches/buttsniffers backfilling positions "vacated" in Calgary? You know, the "high pots" the company bends over backward for who probably won't stay with COP anyway as soon as the downturn is over.

The narcissism is an accurate label. It blinds them to the limitations of their own knowledge, and they often don't seem to know what they don't know. It's aggravating that this is the type of behavior and personality that's rewarded. The cycle continues when these people are pushed into management, bolstering their narcissism and ensuring that the next crop of fools will look and act just like them. And on it goes.
2ofg is right. "Hi Pots" are arrogant narcissistic people. Very self centered. They usually burn out when they are found out. They know less than they tell you they do. Working with a narcissist is no fun. Reporting to one is even worse.
Yes, Hi Pots are idiots who know how to talk louder or more negatively and are thus perceived to be more erudite by virtue of having to point out "problems." In reality they are simply masters in playing political games. Their loud mouths are usually compensation for lesser technical skills.
The "high pots" I know are almost universally arrogant, ill-informed, loudmouths who either get found out and let go, or leave for greener pastures at other companies. Don't worry about them.
It's odd that people will come to work for a US company operating in Canada and expect them to stay there forever. They always leave and always come back in the future.
It's a US company
