Nothing left on wireline except for upper management, wireless can be chopped though since it isn't the wireline funded cash cow anymore.

I'm wish i was union ... u can call me a troll if u want but when u have been through 6 years of VZW retail HE'LL you would feel the same way .
I was not even in sales and was yelled at about selling HUM...
But again my $15 pay s---s compared to union starting pay > $25 . With guarentrenteed raises .
Imagine having your raise taken from u cause u spoke up about a bad retail Director who was locking employees out of the inventory room and treating employees like garbage .
Being denied time off to attend a religious event and being told by HR "I'm not muslum" therefore I don't qualify for religious discrimination . So I had to get a lawyer and had to pay big $$ where as if I was union they would have fought for me all for the small union fee each check...
Again call me what ever but if u been through what i have been through u would feel same way ...
At end of day: wireless employees are treated like sh-- compared to landline where they have protection ..
It's not performance related. Current severance for Mgt is 2 weeks per year of service up to 35 weeks max. Plus medical benefits for that time period and any accrued vacation time. They also supposedly add your pro rated bonus to your severance payment (about 67% of your total bonus at 35 weeks).
@1hlv Your 10K for your exit from wireless is a joke, that is coming from wireline management. What you worked 2 years and kicked out? Or was your performance that bad? I am going with the last one...bad performance. Or maybe you were customer service and if so then more the idiot than union. Don't be mad at the union because you s---ed at your negotiations. Move along with your complaints.
@1hlv - okay union troll.
So here's an example.. as a fired wireless employee my exit payment was under 10k . Limited medical coverage , no pension
Union employees if they get bought out get over 50k exit bonus (ESIP) plus pension plus 401k plus medical benefits 4 life .
I wish i was union . .. (TEARS)
Wireless has peaked. The days of verizon wireless pretty much being the only real cell company are over. Tmobile may only work in the cities not the suburbs but the ghetto has their cell carrier, tmobile. Now you have at&t, sprint, etc all competing for a smaller audience. Layoffs are inevitable.
On the wireline side, there's only cable to compete with, and comcast is as much a hot mess as verizon is, there's less competition. Any holding back of FIOS is self-induced, as people really want it, but can't get it.
Wireless, in many ways, has become the next peanut butter on the grocery shelf, you have a dozen different ones to choose from and go by price, unless you have complete loyalty to one brand, and in this day and age loyalty isn't important like it was in Beaver cleaver 1950s.
Union employees won't be laid off but they can be bought out. Will Verizon do that? If so, many would leave willingly with a little extra in their pockets.
Wireline has already been cut to the bone. Business cycles, the whole bit...
It's just their turn.
Verizon is Verizon and a layoff is a layoff. I don't see your point.
