One of the best, most influencial, open minded, motivational, true leaders passed away today. Russell Casale will be missed and his memory will never be forgotten.

The passing of Russell has been hard on a lot of people. I must admit I am one of those people and I am really struggling with this. He was someone I really admired and looked up to. Im hurting inside regretting that I didnt spend more time getting to know him and laugh more with him. He always had the best stories to put a smile on my face when I really needed one. He always had the best advice when I really needed it. He always gave me support when I really needed it. He was the bestest best friend a person could ever be blessed with.
He is gone now and im crumbling with no idea how to put myself back together.
Dont ever take anything for granite because it can be gone in an instant.
Russell was a remarkable, dedicated leader, but moreso a first-rate human being. Perhaps one of the last to grace Follett. Rest in peace, my friend, and condolences to his family and the team he leaves behind.
RIP Russell. You were always a gentleman and you did live the values. You will be missed.

Very sorry to hear this sad news! Decades ago, I went on a few bookbuys with Russell, including my first. I respected his work ethic and thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor. I still smile when I think of us walking to the book buyback site, before dawn, across a large field on the Frostburg State campus on my first buy, Russell with a backpack full of cash and me thinking we would certainly be robbed.
