With sub $50 oil and blowing things up, this Denver management team better get it going. Those that are gone and not associated with the baldness of the Rockies are the lucky ones
Since March '16, the ratio of fat to muscle has gone up. Like a runway model, APC looks good but couldn't do a hard days worth of work.
The indescriminant reductions in the first round saw many innovators booted. And ever since then, there's been the slow and steady drip drip drip of talent walking out the door.
Morale has never been better!
Hit the bricks? You must be a protected species...like one of the multitudes of middle managers. There's more fat to be trimmed, other than yo brisket, bubba.
I would rather 'hit the bricks' than move to Midland, Texas, redneck. But that's just me...
Not true last poster.
Mostly complainers and people who thought they were too good for Midland were let go. I would say the fat was trimmed nicely. Midland is where the work is. Move or hit the bricks, simple as that.
I was let go in March and had a job in April (non-engineer). Best thing to happen to me. I feel sorry for those left behind. Oh...the best part...paid for my new pool in cash...every time I jump in I thank Uncle Al...Thanks APC! If the packages are still as good as they were in March, you would be lucky to be let go. Lots of jobs out there!
How many that were laid off last week actually worked in the Eagleford asset area? I know for a fact none of those laid off in my group worked that area - some never touched it at all.
for all the newbies in the industry (you kids in the 20-30's), learn from this. when a company hypes it core values, it's usually rotten to the core. when a company values it's employees, it usually is reliant on the good old boy network - HR always looks good when everyone is a buddy so there are never any complaints. open communication? yeah, you might or might not have a position if you say no, but i can't tell you. servant leadership? yeah, the big guy, little hands goes back and forth to cali but you are not allowed to go back and forth to midland. and on and on....
I was laid off in March 2016 and had the opportunity to skate sections of the road that snakes through Arches National Park during my time off. The feeling was incredible as I rode through the desert air and the red columns of sandstone. Of course my buddy, who was driving, thought I was nuts. But it was fun.
Anadarko went from having no layoffs to a company that has layoffs hanging over their employees all the time. In the long run this is going to hurt APC in keeping up their reputation. They stilll hav some of us he best perks and nicest buildings, but those things don't pay the bills.
News says apc claims it was mostly jobs that supported Carrizo Springs from the woodlands office. Don't know how true that is.
Why are there multiple supply chain jobs posted on Indeed.com for Midland but not on the APC career website? No takers from The Woodlands?
It's an awful place to work now, believe me. Some of the people they let go had the most knowledge and experience. Just a bunch of kids trying to figure it all out now - and they don't even know what they don't know.
I'm curious to know if any of the APC employees who volunteered to be laid off in March 2016 were recently laid off. Wow. It must really be fun to work there now.
Unless you were offered a relo to midland and refused. Then you only get your bonus and an entourage escort out the door. Everyone else who refused to relocate will be canned in June.
Was it is good as the first package
Under current severance plan, you get your target bonus as part of your severance.
Packages?
Remember when the "one and done" phrase was sooo cool? APC has fallen so far.
i heard of several in accounting and hr
I wonder how their bonus money will be used since bonuses have not been paid.
60
Vernal layed off 2 engineers this morning.
@dlj - Asset Mgmt
At least 50 today which includes those who did not move to Midland. The company is still bloated with too many mid-level managers and incompetent a-- kissers. Get rid of these people and maybe the company financials can get back in the black again.
Yes its true...not as large as last layoff...percentage did not meet requirements so apc did not have to post.
Maybe they will just keep doing small layoffs to stay under radar.
Multiple groups
It's true
Mostly from asset mgmt group
Idk if this is true
From what group?
??
