I second that. I was a full time employee at enbridge I resigned with out having another job in hand. Being from a tech background i didn't have any problem finding another job. BTW smart people leave dumb people stay.

I quit before this last round of layoffs. In part because of the last pay grab from contractors which worked out to 12%.

Tech workers are not stuck in O&G and the economy isn't really that bad for the technical sector.

This is going to hurt Enbridge as key SMEs will bolt as I've seen time and time again and Enbridge will be left with their pants down.

I don't blame you. I wish it was BS. Its hard to deal with. Us here contractors at WO building getting cut 10% last year before the merger. And then now here we go again with another 10%.....

They must think we have to much excess money from our home budgets or think that "Were way to generous with these peasants". We need to unionize, I know it has its crappy characteristics but we need some type of leverage against these people. Oh sh--! there I went and said the dirty U-word.

Something has to change. We cant just let them do stuff like this (Businesses in General).

Turns out this rumor is true. I'm very sorry everyone. I just received the official notice from my boss. I don't know who has found out yet, but it's being told verbally now. You'll find out today and the change will take place next week.

Internal email huh? Highly doubt they'd send an email like that out. Just more and more bs coming from the trolls.

Confirmed per internal email. 10% cut coming 3/23 for contractors.

To be honest, we don't know how things will pan out - if they are as concerned (as they appear to be) with headcount (on payroll) - having a large number of contractors to cover all work that needs to be done may be the way to go.

Many companies do this, I believe we'll move in this direction as well.

So, cutting compensation would not be the way to go and a modest cut (e.g., 10%) actually makes a lot of business sense.

I hate it, yet, it makes sense.

They're calling contractors at their Enbridge office and telling them personally. Shouldn't they be calling the HR rep of the contracting company instead of telling the individual worker? I'm assuming the 10% reduction would be off the billing rate and not off the worker's paid rate. That's sneaky as sh--.

Should have been much deeper.

"Sustainable Development"

A Global Initiative with absolutely everyone on board, from the United Nations, to the United States, and even the Pope.

The Initiative lists the energy sources the world will use, and Oil is not one of them.

This crash is orchestrated to bring in the new system.

The coddled, entitled life of O+G workers is over, regardless of whether you survive this round of layoffs or not.

Too bad you guys were and still are fast asleep as to world events. Hope the Beer and Pretzels were fun.

They could have easily set that to 40% and they would still keep all of them...

Tough times...
