Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

CWA AT&T SW tentative agreement?

So what did the Union lose? I see highlights of what they say we gained but it doesn't mention was the Union lost to for those gains. It really just matters what we lost because what we gained was barely anything.

I'm assuming most will vote No to this tentative Aggrement. Strike may be next.

wage increase is a joke...

it's far from fair...with the profits at&t is making the very least we should be in double digits for wage increase if you look at the progression of profits vs the increase of healthcare, cost of living, ect ect...

I'm not saying it's greedy, but lets be or real, the front line guys which are a majority of union let the company go with the lowest possible form of wage increase for the past 5 years...due to their "low earnings" and immediately after the union agreed on a contract they release record profits report....

So if you look at it that way, we should have a wage increase that is double the normal, because of that shady agreement last time.

Wage increases are neglible once the medical increase is factored in. No "watermark level" protection against future job losses. And the fact that the union agreed so quickly leads me to believe that the company does not want to have two districts with expired contracts. That would give too much leverage to union members. Yep, the union agreed too quickly in my opinion

I will be voting a definite NO! The wage increase is nothing when healthcare continues to be increased as well. AT&T profits billions. They can give a wage increase that is actually an increase! The prem techs totally got screwed. How can anyone vote yes to this when the tentative agreement doesn't benefit everyone? That is what unity is. I will stand by my NO vote and hope everyone else votes NO as well. This agreement came way too soon after the deadline passed on Monday, February 27th to come to an agreement. I smell the higher ups of CWA siding with the company.
