Last Friday, all CHE's were asked if anyone has a license for social work, etc. Of course folks are curious as to why since it was not a requirement to have a license to get the job. The COM told everyone it's because they are creating some program or something like that to help keep track and remind those who are licensed to renew before it's expired. I'm not buying it. The queues have been dangerously low over the last several weeks. talk about scary...

For the record many of us CHES are Licensed Social Workers.
I don't think licenses were the reason for layoffs. There were zero tasks. We knew it was coming. None of the CHEs are licensed professionals. This department is in the toilet. The rest of us will go next quarter for sure. Every time they reschedule town hall meetings, it's a sign.
Fear mongering my a$$. Several of my coworkers just lost their jobs and guess what all were CHEs and non of them had a social work licensure.
I heard it was mainly phc and Che let go. Anyone else notice how when the town hall
Meeting is rescheduled it means because big changes like This are about to happen? Just an observation the last couple times.
Does anyone know any details of who was affected this morning? What departments and roles?? How many? Is HAH slowly dying out?

Humana does care if you renew your license because they are liable if your renewal lags even one day. They have to report to CMS who is licensed! It is mandatory! This is not part of some master plan to get rid of all CHEs. Fear mongering is terrible!
Humana doesn't care if you have to renew your license or not. That is your problem. They are asking to see if they can use you for double duty. CHEs beware betting more of you will be gone soon if you don't have a higher degree.
I was told that it is CMS required for some jobs to be licensed and the asking of licensing recently, since it's already on resumes, talent center, etc....was to help HR track renewals
If CHEs need to have any type of licensure then they would have to let go of probably 95% or more of them. I would doubt any have a nursing license or MSW. That is what they were asking for from what I was told.
What is most worrisome is the constant rescheduling of the town hall meeting. Last layoff they rescheduled several times. I'm sure they need to get their ducks in a row first.

Now? When the COM starts asking for information like this, it is hard not to think it has to be formajor changes coming. Why didn't they ask this information before??
Any hints as to how many people will be affected and in what roles or departments? Anything at all? Please??
Nothing to worry about. CMS requires tracking on licenses. CHEs are not required to be licensed.
The waiting will be over very soon, and unfortunately more good people will be affected. Don't ask, I won't tell, just know the changes taking place will be obvious soon, like today or tomorrow soon.
Maybe they are looking to fill the nursing void in HCCP?? So many nurses have left there are 1,000s of members waiting to be assigned a care manager.
I believe nursing was one, yes.
Other than social work, what other licensure were they looking at? Nursing?
