Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Hilcorp / Carlyle Group acquisition

For those of you in San Juan who think you just hit the lottery, flying in a G-6 at 30k feet, and were just handed a golden parachute you may want to postpone your celebration and pass on buying that "Lambo" for a bit. You were acquired by a company that employs less than 1500 people and offers salaries 20% less than you currently make. 60-70% of current San Juan employees will be dismissed once the deal is finalized. Most field employees will continue to have jobs if they are willing to work for $26-$28/hour. Your town is about to have another population mass exodus and a glut of empty sub prime real estate. Get ready for major disappointment that does not live up to the hype! Hasta la vista, baby!

I think cakes is a great choice to be transition! He is kind and a good representation of Conoco for the new company. Anyone at our age who would name call at someone's spouses is clearly not mentally equipped with any other tools to battle with.

at least with hilcorp, there is hope. Maybe they run their business like a business - like a meritocracy. Conoco is full of overpaid incompetent scheming management who will stab you or each other in the back. Lots of inbred nepotism there. It's not what you do its whose ego you stroke or kiss up to that makes careers. No wonder it's such a mess.

No, it isn't. It's the reason mercenaries work.

Amazing, everything revolves around money at a ConocoPhillips - nobody mentions anything else about working here. A bunch of mercenaries.

Jealous. LMFAO. This post is dead on. U really think hilcorp pays more. Ha. Y'all r f'd. Why r u bashing the poster. HC runs lean. This means pay and benefits get slashed. Truth hurts. U had a great run at cop. HC does not pay sht. Maybe HC will do another 100 k bonus for ya. Yeah right.

With private equity firm involved, I would be worried. They don't give a rats a$$ bout anything but the dollar.

@MNeaUjo You are the true cop loser type.

You didn't have the decency to wish your colleagues the best instead you found the time trash them in such a difficult time. #A$$h0!2\loser

It's Easter, let's say a prayer for all our colleagues that have or are leaving Conocophillips - may their new life be better than the old.
