I’m right with you on the screw ups I’m a clerk and as it is I’ve been by myself for the past year and before that several months .They would be smarter to keep clerks just saying

When did they start checking in the fresh trucks? Nothing has been said at my club?

They are back to checking in fresh deliveries for accuracy.

It is my understanding they are keeping 2 full timers during the day in receiving. One lead and one receiver. No invoice clerk. Shifting to one full timer, one part-time overnight. Asset mgr will absorb a lot of the audit paperwork. With team leaders handling 5 or so audits each month based on their categories.

If anyone has any info please share. It's just myself (the lead) my invoice clerk and a night guy. Myself and my clerk usually come in at 3:30 am. Some days earlier sometimes later. From the moment we arrive it is go go go. I intentionally schedule deliveries to when I have the most man power to move freight. Forget about help from night crew. They are always short handed. So its all on my small receiving team. check freight in, run it and rack it. Oh and as a forklift driver get hit up with about a hundred different needy request for help, all before 7 am. ASN receiving as the way of the future? Saving time, labor and reducing errors? A joke. I got a $17000 error i caught yesterday) The info that is put into the system is put in by humans and there really are errors. Lots. The vendors that ASN should be saving us time on, s---, and it takes longer. Their accuracy is horrid. Plus info about changes and such are not communicated down to us worker bee's, So lets sum up whats happened in the last 14 days or so. We no longer detail receive any freight that comes from our fresh or dry distribution centers. (hint, this were most of our shortages came from over the years, just saying) We got rid of our audit teams who help find screw ups. We are now switching to ASN receiving for the majority of our vendors. No counting, just scan the bar code and move on.

OMG. We are so screwed. I dumped all my wal-mart stock last week. When it starts to show up in P&L about shortages, i give it less than 2 years before things change. If our corporate hasn't fixed it by that point, I think the stock holders will. But what ever. It won't help my team or myself. We are all expendable. And until companies get back to encouraging workers to step up and wrap themselves into the company flag we as american are screwed. Just my 2% worth.
