Canada update

Cenovus will be taking on 600 new hires/transfers from CP. Apparently a majority of individuals have already been selected.

For folks in Calgary, they'll sublease the newly renovated floors, jam whomever's left onto 18, 19, 20, and keep the big wigs on 16 & 17, reusing the old reception area on 16. Nobody else is moving up to Surmont site. Absolutely stupid rumour.

COP will give them some of their higher rated folks, from Houston or wherever. They'll lay off lower-rated staff who are already in Calgary.

Who said all staff from Surmont in the Calgary offices. Layoffs will slim that down to minimal and the rest are going to site. Do you really think COP is here to stay in Canada and if they do keep a small presence it will not be downtown Calgary. Let's all have a little common sense here....

They're going to renovate the renovated floors with more renovations at GCS. I heard they're bringing in chicken coops and leg shackles to keep everyone at their desks more often. They even worked out a deal with this IT company to put tracking chips in our necks to monitor how many coffee breaks people take.

There's no way all Calgary staff for Surmont are moving to site. That comment is beyond stupid.

CVE divesting Pelican and Suffield assets plus additional 28kbbls/d as per their presentation. Lots of people over there without work to do and I doubt CVE will pay them severance to take one of us.

A very few select service staff will be staying with COP and none moving to CVE. IT, HR, Facilities won't be needed as Surmont folks in GCS will be moving to site and the rest of WCBU at local site. GCS will be no longer be COP. Makes sense with no one left.

This has been confirmed by a very strong source.

There is 1,067 CPC staff in the Calgary office as of today. If you're saying 1,200, then there must be ~150-200 contractors?
