Thread regarding Halliburton Co. layoffs

Focal Point or not this year?

Has anybody heard if we will get a raise this year?

I work in the Landmark PSL and we have heard nothing. So over 3 years and counting now.

No wonder everyone is looking for a different job with a better company!

Why give pay rises when people will take a pay cut to keep their job.

Halliburton will give raises when, and only when, they can no longer get anyone to do the work. If you are still coming to work, you are part of the problem.

Attrition, layoff to get the needed immediate savings, then let attrition take the rest. If you get fed up and leave, saves the company a severance pkg, benefits, salary whatevere and your replacement will be offered less. another way to reset the compensation scale, stay too long and you become the target, you know you have made this same consideration yourself.

People at the top can't get a good pay rise if everyone gets one so someone has to go without.

Aw, c'mon man. Don't be so critical. It takes cunning to take what started out as a strong armed takeover and turn it into a muti billion dollar payday for the target company. Show some respect.

Well I see good old UncleDave gave himself a nice 2M dollar raise or about 12.5%. And a similar amount to his good buddy Little Jeffie.

While the rest of us get less than nothing. So it's us holding the bag for the failed Baker acquisition. I guess it must be our fault and I am sure Dave thinks so as well.

The part that really rots me is that they didn't even have the balls or decency to tell us that there would be no raises this year.

I am so proud to work for Hell-abortion!

If this company ever gives the working class any benefits I shall jump for joy.

It's hard in life for all working class to provide for your family I would love to go on holiday every year but this shall not happen as no pay rise offshore for 5 years only think you get is grief from bosses no give aways with halliburton

Ah, finally, a well written coherent reply. That sums it up pretty well. Seeing as there is probably only 13000 of you left anyway, you should all be looking for a few more shares. Sperry folks will be getting a canned Louisiana ham. Of course I will always vote ny 17 shares against the recommendation of the board. Good luck to you all.

The truth is guys they spent your money on the failed BHI deal. Between that and losses over the past few years the company has a lot more debt and a lot less cash. From management's perspective, the dividend must be paid first or their jobs will be in the toilet faster than you can say "Uncle Dave"; giving you your focal point buys them very little, except a little PR value. After all, this is the company that had no problem jettisoning 30,000 employees.

In looking at the most recent proxy statement filed on April 7, 2017 to the SEC, there is an item on the agenda for the annual shareholders meeting (May 17, 2017) to increase the pool of common shares available under the company stock and incentive plan by 19M shares. Some 13,000 employees are actually eligible for the plan, so there is at least some chance that some of you will receive some type of stock related compensation. The vesting period appears to be 3 years, but there is some language in the proposal that might allow for an acceleration of the vesting schedule.

This all assumes the shareholders vote to approve this proposal. Most shareholders are as unhappy as employees at the moment.

There is no mention of compensation increases on the shareholders meeting agenda; but then again focal point increases are not subject to shareholder vote; but almost certainly subject to Board of Directors vote. Given that management just warned the market that Q1 numbers were going to s--- (again), the board may want to wait until the company returns to reasonable profitability before approving focal points. That might not happen until later this year (or 2018).

Good luck to all HAL employees.

So we see where all the money goes and for sure it is not towards the working man

I was looking forward to a wage increase so that I could give my kids a holiday but we can only dream.

We have been let down again by the greed company.

It has been another very tough year for Halliburton leaders. Just look at the Executive compensation. Lesar 17,850MM a crappy 12% increase from 2015. McCollum 5,182MM lousy 16% increase, Miller 9,000MM barely livable 17.5%, Rainey 8,500MM up 17.5% from 2015, and poor Mr. Brown 7,060MM up from 6,000MM in 2015. I hope they all can hold on for better times. And you peeons want an increase............Not until our leaders are awarded proper compensation for pulling us through this mess. If you would like to donate to any of your leaders, I am sure they would appreciate the support.

That's one of the main reasons I retired in April. Every year without a raise had be going backwards. That plus I was tired of working.

What? They don't have you beaten down yet to the point that you are oh-so-grateful just to have a job and are okay with sacrificing the "extras" like bonuses, training, travel, office conditions, and raises just to keep that miserable job? Then the guys upstairs aren't doing their jobs well enough!

Lots of people are leaving Landmark but I'm not sure where they are going. To tell you truth, I think Starbucks would be a better place to work.

At least you wouldn't have some H1B visa holder micro-manager on your a$$.
