This company is not worth the effort. No management changes will improve the culture that they have grown over the years. The lives they have effected should be considered a criminal action and prosecute the company officials...Remember Enron?

What I genuinely care most about is wellness themes. On my own, I signed up for periodicals that concerns this subject matter, and I continue to keep

educated about the most recent wellness research.

Just how is this relevant? I feel there is no more crucial emphasis for my hours.

Also, this blog entry seems as though it's

well worth my time to read. I dig through thousands or more of personal blogs every week.

Honestly, my spine nearly always is uncomfortable and I need a all new spare time interest.

Best thing is to move on once you've done the best you can. Anything else just hurts just you and those you care about. Don't think for a minute the company cares about you personally. It's a company, and a company exists to make money. Period.

My spouse was laid off after 30 years. She watched as her freinds and fellow supervisors were let go one by one over several years. A recent purchase by Verizon made it necessary once again to wack a few more Supervisors and managers. higher salaried people were wearing targets on there backs.

She was the second best employee in her department according to the appraisals.

She had also worked long hours during the extended strike leaving her love one for the Company she loved. It didn't matter. They saw her salary was bloated and she got the call. Totally devastated she came home and worked frantically to find another job in the company. She wanted to work a few more years and retire. I watched when she came out the door for the last time with a box in her hand and tears streaming down her face. I felt so sorry for her and angry at Verizon. She is now happy doing other things but the subject of Verizon is never brought up in conversation. They did permanent damage to my family. I will never forget that.

Vz will probably close most if not all wireless stores,and omly have their vision of smart stores once they deploy their enhanced 4g lte/5g wireless products,and just hire and train new employees and manegers lower and upper ,pay them less with the least benny's amd try to profit the most..

@MDAaT01-aagx - guess you haven't heard Verizon pays Glassdoor to remove negative posts about their precious company - awwww, too bad there's so many more posted reviews elsewhere.

I got hit after almost a decade of service and sacrifice, including missing a long-planned dream trip. I was told they needed to make room for an employee who comes along with the XO Communications. What kind of company tosses out an employee with a good track record for an unknown quantity?

well verizon wireless is coming with more lay offs.. in the next couple months, this time will be manager low performance and sales reps.. its not integrity, no loyalty , no respect to their employees . those are the ones who make that company rich and be where they are right now.. sales rep .the one who face to face with the cust.

I was let go in the October layoffs after 10.5 years. Verizon has been a s*** company for at least 3 to 4 years since the merger. I'm on now with another company that understands that it needs to invest in its employees to get results rather than reduce benefits & raises, not recognising hard work, mandatory overtime for pointless meetings, & no "work-life balance" they always preach they have when your phone is blowing up all the time and you're shunned if you don't respond to their beckoning just so Lowell & his executives can keep lining their wallets with multi-million dollar bonuses on gutting you from your livelihood. You don't recognize these things till you get out of the hell hole that is Verizon. It s---s & I feel for all employees affected by this. I wish the ones that kept their jobs would stop being blinded by the VZW tinted sunglasses & unionize. It's their only thing to ensure them keeping their jobs next round, which we all know is coming. I hope nothing but the best for you. You deserve better!

After working on every holiday, important times for my family and so some days that I was so ill I couldn't walk I can't believe this. The b---s--- speech of how much they appreciate you when they actually don't! The packet of b---s--- they hand you with nothing helpful in it. The person who really was happy I was going giving me my package. Grrrrr I'm so damn mad!

My husband is a solutions specialist and just got laid off with a severance package and a month's notice. Apparently VZW are closing the whole store and letting everybody but the GM go. So unexpected it hit us like a fast train! All I can say is thank god for uber and Lyft ... we'll patch up things

On Thursday last week they announced they are closing all Verizon Mall locations... they are not only getting us laid off, they are closing the whole store. This is insane having in mind we are one of the best stores in the country. Only some of the managers managed to save their jobs, we, the sales people have been promoted to customers after giving heart and soul for he company for years.

All Verizon cares about is sales. They even created a position to drive business sales in store that not only pays the sales reps it pays the business specialist as well. Why would you pay 2 employees for the same sales? What a waste! I worked like crazy all day while people sat in the back doing nothing.

I volunteered to help with the strike last year, recently received best store in the company in risk assessment. Been with the company for four years, never have I ever felt so betrayed. I've put everything I've got into that company and I get this? Unreal.

I was apart of the RIF last week. Verizon Wireless is one the worst companies to work for. As soon I started working there 5 years ago they treated me horribly. They treated me different as a woman, this "good ole boys" club atmosphere. They put they men on pedestals and treated them like them as they were the "superior beings" whereas the few women that do work there are treated as "2nd class" citizens. This layoff was not only geared toward older people but also women. They always made allowances for the men and let them get away with not doing as much but the rules were different for the women. Women are expected to know more and do more with different standards than their male counterparts.

9 years with the company, got the call on my vacation last week! Laid off! My position, RSS has been Eliminated. Since then, I have been called my the managers left in the store to please help them because they do not know how to do any of the tasks I performed! I guess our role wasn't important but yet, they can still call and ask for help!?

Sneaky bastards got me this AM...apparently they didn't have my phone number...i thought I was safe...fyi..as it says on my paper 29.5 years.

I feel used as well. I gave up time with my children for this company. The SM's are definitely struggling... I got a phone call the day after asking me how to do things. Good luck to them.

The executives in that company are only concerned about sales reps. I was with the company for 14 years. I've done a little bit of everything. The sales reps are always getting recognized for something. The company spent $5 million just three weeks ago to take the top sales reps in the company (Winners Circle) to Disney and shut down Universal studios for one day, exclusively for Verizon sales reps and a guest. Airfare, rooms, alcohol, dinner...and then they let go of the employees who try to control shrink, budget, etc. They're always giving "Recognizing You" Awards when a sales rep actually sells something they're supposed to be selling anyway. The RSS' were always given the b---s--- work that the management staff didn't want to do in addition to their own stressful responsibilities. Of course, management always thought the Operations job was just stocking, anyway. Let's see what they think about it in a month and after May's physical inventory. There are sales reps in every store who are barely performing and they keep them around because they're "sales". It's b---s---! They need to start cutting positions with those big executives making those huge salaries that sit in an office and look at numbers...you know...the ones who are clueless about what really goes on in stores because they aren't face to face with the customers...you know...those people who really pay our salaries!

Solid operations and practices are the key to growing the business proclaimed to be needed to keep our revenue positive. Why non performing sales people and management are not being replaced or eliminated makes no sense. We need a good DM, Management and SS cleaning to right the ship, they removed the wrong positions once again and will use whoever is left to clean up the mess once again created by clueless ivory seats. Bottom line, this company ( & I have over 20 years in) is horrible to work for, there are plenty of companies out there that will appreciate a loyal,hardworking employee.

In CO things began to change when #wearenorthcental began, our work was never valued, and the only reason we made it past Oct was to get them thru a lackluster holiday season and SAP transition. They've had us "training " people on how to do our job as part of our development. Right. SM'S were also let go in CO, rumor is there is more of that coming down the pipes. 8 years of my time.

I got the phone call Thursday, while on vacation, from the GM. I have been with the company 5 years and was an RSS. I had worked as a temporary greeter, Customer Service Rep., ES, and RSS. I was saddened in October when the first rounds of lay offs happened. Even though survived the cut, it seemed so wrong on many levels. agree with comments that the RSSs were used to transition our stores to the new system and as help with the holidays. It makes me angry that we were not valued for the work we did. I was an excellent employee. The work I did supported everyone in the store. I honestly don't know how they are going to do without me.

12 years down the tube CURRENTLY WAS A SM. Without warning, Our DM threw us out like we were trash. I came in on my days off to help with quota, took work as a priority over my kids and spouse, answered calls after hours even when on vacation. Just goes to show dedication doesn't matter in corporate anymore.

Guys, once you get your severance pkg BEFORE YOU SIGN please READ, look for a place that says "voluntarily leave" make sure it is not anywhere (word out is that it does say voluntarily leave), if you sign and it does say it, you will not be able to file for unemployment. I was RSS as well, they let me go yesterday. So ruthless. Yes they used as to transition to what they needed to transition to, and now we all gone like we are nothing.

God has better things for us , stay motivated!

fyi....Now they are giving RSS option to work the next month or just leave and still get paid the next month while not giving up severance or vacation. No brainer.

Hey I read here that some of you say sm's got laid off ? Where did they lay sm's off? At my store they just got rid of rss and they told us that's the only position that did layoffs

I feel for all of you that have recently been bent over by Verizon. My center was closed on 3/24 as well, after 9 years with the company, I am angry. The big wigs line their pockets and we just get booted. I lead in stats and all metrics for 8 of the 9 years I was there but that doesn't matter to them. I'd love for leadership to step in and do just one day of the work I did for that company. We received 2 weeks pay for each year we were there and insurance coverage for the same amount of time. While I appreciate that, after being taxed at 40%, it hardly seems worth it. Keep your resumes up to date and be ready....no one matters to them.

Yes they laid off a lot of people, my son was on his day off and they called him and told him he no longer had a job and that he was not allowed in the store anymore, all employees laid off at the store were escorted out

I feel so used by Verizon. Good luck trying to do what us RSS did. That will take time from their precious sales. 9 1/2 years down the drain. Soon sales reps will be let go and stores will close. I wish I opted to go union.

I'm curious what's the severance packages you guys got offered ? I'm a solution specialist getting mentally prepared for the same thing to start to happen to us soon. And wondering what to expect. I have been with the company 2-3 years. I guess if we were Union you guys would still have jobs, horrible decision by Verizon because of greed

I was an ES for 2 1/2 years then moved to RSS in Oct. My anniversary date is April 28th when I was to be fully vested. I hope they don't jack me out of that.

Last year Verizon spent between 2.3 and 2.6 BILLION on Advertising. If each of the 1700 retail stores laid off two RSS averaging let's say $40000 per year, they will reduce costs by 136 million. So, the executives in the Ivory Tower say "let's cut these people, but we don't dare trim our advertising budget" Are you kidding me? Think of it ....a hundred and thirty-six million is a small fraction of the advertising expenses! I have seen several people posting about the inability of assistant managers to be able to perform their job Plus ours. You are absolutely right! I Would love to be a fly on the wall today seeing the mass confusion and the inability of the managers to even start to run SAP. I've also seen many of you posting about how they will try and bring the position back when they find out what a failure their decision was. Now the question is: would you go back if they call?

I am a RSS that worked for Alltel/Verizon for the over 13 years and I was notified that my position has been eliminated. God has been preparing me for this transition for quite sometime and I rejoice in knowing that there is greater in store for me. Most successful endings started with what appeared to be horrible beginnings. To all those who were let go, you are some of the most gifted, intellect, and resilient people on the face of this earth, so don't allow bitterness to become the hurdle that block you from becoming who you were ordained to become. It's a new season and it's time to bloom.

The company came up with a RSS position to get them through the holidays and new inventory switch. That is it! I was a OPS and I ran circles around my management all the time. No respect just a cleanup crew for their mess. It was a BLESSING to be let go. I know that now I am way better off and I am not going to be pushed to lie to anyone about anything. I wish we would have been able to leave that day and not work, goodness cause we were treated like trash everyday cause they knew that they could.

My husband was recently notified yesterday after 23 years and three mergers. They waste hundreds of thousands of dollars on town halls throwing away valuable equipment and replacing recently purchased screens for a sixty minute visit. Spare your employees the b---s--- and stay in your Taj Mahal. "Diversity" includes more than race. Noticed a lot of those receiving notice were late forties/mid-fifties.

I've been with the company for 16 1/2 years. I got my notice yesterday. I'm not exactly sure how they picked who to let go. I was the most hard working person at my store . Now I have nothing to look forward to. The severance package is a joke after all the hard work I've put into this company. It's sad and my heart is filled with pain and sadness.

Verizon should let go all of the HR employees. They don't do anything for you. More you complain or speak your mind they shun you.

HR is one of the lamest deptments and they never look out for your interest. Once you are let go they fill you wil lies and lies.
