Hey Enbridge. Provided I survive the cuts over the next couple of months, how does contracting work there? Currently with Procom, hated it, always hated it, but I assumed that I would get hired on and it was a probation period workaround. Instead of hiring me on, I got a pay cut instead and were constantly finding new ways to screw with me (and other temporary workers). I thought I should ride out to see if I can get on with the company, but if I am just going to be screwed with and kept contract then time to head out. I am not project based, work office 8 by 5. I am thinking that 40% of the company is this way, but hard to get numbers since nobody is talking. There are others topping at least 6 years in other departments that are temporary as well and they want into the company too.

Save deal here. I was a contactor for almost two years working office work
Don't expect to go FTE any time soon. The move from being a contractor to employee is not offered often and for the last year and a half not at all that I am aware
Since Enbridge treats FTE's the same as Contractors in terms of job security, there is little benefit to becoming one - hopefully your contract monetarily makes up for any lack of benefits.
Same deal. Only here you'll be explicitly promised a full time gig and it may or may not ever come.
Started to backfire on them. Contractors are now leaving after shorter and shorter periods on their own volition.
Don't expect any better treatment.
