Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike to Layoff all in-house Custodial staff by June 2017.

Nike has just announced to its in-house custodial staff that they are being laid off in three months (by June 2017). The custodial staff at Nike hasn't had any top management for several months, and the message was delivered to custodial staff by the head of Nike's maintenance and grounds department. It had been rumored for months that this would happen, as top managers overseeing custodial resigned several months ago, and no replacement was ever hired. Employees were told it was not an actual layoff, as they would be given the chance to be rehired by outside contract companies (at lower pay, without benefits, and as "at will" employees, meaning they can be fired without cause), who will be taking over the custodial duties for all buildings where Nike custodial staff currently work. This claim of not being an actual layoff may get them into legal trouble down the road, and smacks of the disingenuous and poor management culture right now at Nike. It remains to be seen if they will offer severance benefits or cash-outs of PTO hours to the large number of custodial staff members who have been with the company for 10+ years.

@M0rVO7m, thank you for posting this and sorry to hear. This proves that Nike is struggling. Get out now if you can, don't wait around. Its a matter of time before $#!t hits the fan.
