Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Just get out

I like to think of UOPX as a virus. I've coined it Upox. I left on free will for a much lower paying job. At first I was worried but after a couple of months I've come to realize how liberating it is. That environment is toxic for employees. It's hard to imagine anything else when you've worked there for as long as I did but there are better things out there. Stop waiting for a layoff. Take your own future into your hands and stop leaving it up to the corporate a--holes that are no better or smarter than you. They don't have a direction. They're non-swimmers that went overboard. A drowning person will try to drown you in their panic when you attempt to save them.

I agree...I left UOP two months ago and also took a pay cut; however, I believe this was the best career move to make. In working in a new enviroment, I clearly see that UOP was a crappy company to work. My new job makes me feel as if i was careerly abused by UOP...if that makes sense lol. I have learned job security, opportunites for advancement, and working with integrity is really important. If you feel its no hope, keep looking because its more than UOP. Think about the long term advanages instead of the current pay UOP is giving you. My new job is a postive enviroment, its values its employees, better benefits, pension, and in another month I get a pay raise and a yearly raise afterwards. I will top my UOP salary in 18months. I really hope this gives someone the courage to take control and get out of UOP! That place is going down...just a matter of time.
