Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

The other side of "Chickens return to Rooster" story. Rich and greedy execs refuse to retire!!!

These are the facts in many organizations.

1). Rich and greedy executives refuse to retire. Fame-seeking execs want people to admire and worship them. They spend time promoting themselves rather than investigating the organization issues or quietly helping the poors. They listen and believe whatever her/his senior staff reported.

2) Useless and narcissistic Senior management copies the execs's "eyes on me" attitude. They are lacking of domain knowledge and problem solving ability. Most of them are extrovert and attention seekers. Their job are to make decision base on whatever middle management give them.

3) There are two types of Middle management. First type of managers are smart and hard working. Unfortunately, most of them left or planning to leave. Second type are "deck" managers. They ask their staff to create slides and reports, so that they can pass to upper management. They micro manage and they layoff high achieving staff (aka chickens) who are capble to move up and potentially replace them.

version 2.0 - chickens return to rooster.

From an external perspective...Don't fret the BPO's surrounding the dying whale are just replicas. Senior management that are only in it for themselves with hidden agendas, Middle managers that believe they are hard working, when all they do is push useless, badly thought out policy and procedure onto us. The clients are waking up but they are the same...happy fat cats with legacy deals...Got told that Agile is only 3 yrs old and 2016 HPE decided to design for it ... by senior manager... Wet myself...no I just sat and cried as he actually wanted me to believe this

I was a manager there for over 13 years and had many people reporting into me over the years. I moved away from people mgt 4 years ago as I didn't believe the level of work force reduction was justified or ethical and I refused to sack decent hardworking loyal employees. I worked on a number of projects but last year my project was put on hold as it involved rolling out a new support model and they were firing the people that I was training! I decided enough was enough and took my package and ran far away. 6 weeks for every year is a good deal so if you can get it, my advice is to take it asap while it is still on offer! The executive leadership is toxic and only interested in their own wealth and are happy to screw employees and customers alike. Get out while you can, prior to the CSC merge spinoff which will be another disaster. RIP HPE

I can see most of what you said in play and I don't work there anymore as I got laid off last year after way too many years. I've seen it. However there is still high level management that are extremely ethical and have a family and have bills to pay too and children they are raising. We all know who those people are and are not.
