Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Rolling layoff since June and continuing

Should be obvious to everybody that oracle has had a rolling layoff since June. Last weeks numbers were just bigger and required some WARN notices, this more attention. Layoffs are continuing and will continue so report everything you see/ know of to keep oracle honest

Oracle acquired our company a few years ago. Promised annual bonuses and provided retention bonuses to mission critical employees who stayed for a year.

They soon laid off the entire hardware dept and outsourced to China. As engineers started leaving due to oracle policies which were frustrating and counter productive. They did not backfill the positions but they open job reqs many of which were interviewed got an offer and then told the hired was delayed somewhere up the chain of command. It was a hiring freeze. All the while they were hiring in India. When mgmt was asked about the expantion of the India precense they downplayed or disavowed any knowledge on many occasions. The India precense has expanded to three location has a head count of 80+ and have 40 more reqs open which is kept quite. Our headcount is dwindling and some of our engineering projects have been sent elsewhere under a veil of secrecy. there is now a rumor their will be a lay off. They gave a false sense of security all the while transitioning jobs quietly. Future uncertain for citizens of the USA but bright for H1B's whose miners are increasing.

I just know that if you end up at a place and Oracle is trying to sell solutions into it, you can easily blow it up and get them to buy Salesforce, Amazon, anything but Oracle.

Also, everyone should keep in mind that they are silently laying off people with higher salaries and experience in virtually every department at all times (sales, dev/eng, support)

BUT, overall headcount is actually GROWING because of acquisitions and class of hiring, and romanian/indian hiring

All of these people are good people of course, but their existence at this company is coming from the "money saved" by firing US based, older, more tenured people
