Apparently, there are large amount of duplication of business between west and east ... x86 and sparc, the employees themselves even do not know whether they are making money or not. There is always rumor that some division or group will be closed down that site ... just a matter of time. Not surprising ....
How many years at Oracle? Not rest to retire?
They snuck a few of us out the door last Sept (9/15) below the WARN threshold, real classy! Fortunately I landed 2 job offers within 6 weeks. Fall is a great time of year for a 6 week sabbatical! ; )

Even intel is laying off in x86, so why not Oracle? Cloud is eating everyone's lunch.
