Thread regarding Follett layoffs

1. why would you focus on increasing someone else's face time? For a project to succeed you need equal commitment from all members of the team.

2. why do you work so many hours? Have you ever used a Follett system. LOL. Epic fails

3. reporting to the business this is a done deal. Just waiting to be announced.

Wow - miss/mister I can't want for IT to report to the business! First of all - super vindictive! What has your career done to your soul? Second, you are a fool - why would you focus on increasing someone else's face time / in the office time, when you should be figuring out how to better manage your own work so you aren't working stupid numbers of hours. A lot of hours does not mean you are a good employee. Bill Gates recently said -and I paraphrase - Having a full schedule doesn't mean you are serious. Just cos you run from meeting to meeting trying to be important doesn't mean you're doing anything of value. Finally - IT report to the business - get off the pipe! That'll happen when there is no internal IT - and good luck to you managing those offshore relationships - sounds like you might be the d--k that deserves it.

Great I get to be aligned with one money losing venture after another.

I cannot wait for IT to report to the business. IT will need to be in sync with the business (or else) and also have to work hours similar to the business. The days of 8-4 are over.

So, after all I have been through over the last 3 years the IT department is going to be broken up. I am going to be reporting to people who don’t understand and don’t care to understand the technology I support. After layoffs, Infosys, TCS, Intersoft I am going to report to the people that have led us through year over year sales declines and decimated the store staffs.

The sound I hear is not my life getting better, it is the scraping of deck chairs being rearranged on the Titanic yet again.
