Call me paranoid, but the timing of this massive layoff (sure, it is going to happen anyway) is just too perfect for Trump inauguration. So before Friday, whatever sh*t goes on is still Obama era. After Friday, Oracle is definitely going to take on a massive hiring craze. With thousands being cleared around the globe today, Trump can once again claim that the credit of 'Oracle Recruiting' goes to him!

Jonathan killed Sun. Oracle bought it to cherry pick it. IBM would have simply taken Java and shut it down.

As a customer why would you buy from Oracle and IBM? They give you crappy software at high prices. They look for anyway to find you it if compliance. They don't take care of their employees except the executives. When you need them for support, you are getting the cheapest most inexperienced labor they can find and it takes them too long to fix your issue if it ever gets fixed.
There are so many better choices, so why would you consider buying from these dinosaurs?

Oracle is just a holding company. No innovation, growth through acquisition and lean management principles that are a stable of a MH regime.

I think the genie is out of the bottle for Oracle. Most customers I know are unfavorable toward Oracle. Oracle is just a financial clearing house for its shareholders. No real innovations jut financial engineering. Sounds too much like IBM?
