Its worth it

as one of the asms let go after 28 years everyone needs to know that no one should feel safe there. I wore many hats in that time frame. Dept. mgr. zone mgr. area ops mgr. did a seven year stint at the corporate office before they downsized and went back store side. Became a store manager stepped down to asm to take care of family issues. I have seen and worked with a tremendous amount of great people and saw how management was "tricking" them. To interviews that are manipulated to put who they want into position to the hit list of associates who they will focus on to get rid of by watching their time and attendance (while others have worse attendance put are not said anything too) or giving them impossible tasks or time lines. Harassment complaints not followed up on...you'll have to trust us we are taking care of it. I could write a best seller on how you are screwed over but will never know it. Good luck to my fellow ex-associates and hope you land on your feet.

I worked for Lowes for 14 years and with no write ups on job performance, I was terminated due to a lie.. The Asm let go during this lay off was part of my ordeal.. Karma karma.. The dept mgr envolved is next.. I'm enjoying this restructure so please hurry up and hit the store mgr too! I can say one thing there is so much more out here I am grateful they pushed me out. I now work for an amazing company making more money and no stress!!!!!! Lowes don't appreciate dedication or hard working associates. It's all about the good old boys. If your in your promise the position! If your not like your out!! And as for store mgr she is stealing and that's another reason she wanted me out! she called me the cop of the store!!!who buys Lowes gift cards and cashes them out with no receipt to explain use she does she does!!!! I brought it up to my LP and she was upset about it!!! Lowes needs to pay a little more attention to the business credit card given to the store mgrs!! Hers was stolen twice uh no that's a lie, she likes to shop online and ship to Cali where her in-laws live!!!!!!!!!

For once I am happy it's not me who lost a job. I have been looking for work in some professional capacity since Obama took office (2009) and have struggled ever since then. While being at Lowe's may not be my dream job, I respect the fact that the company is here to make money. If you're not happy in retail, go find a job somewhere else. If you think you deserve a better job, go get some education and change your lot in life. If you think you're not being treated fairly, go and start your own business and see how well you do. This is the reality of life. Life is tough and then you die, unless you decide to change it yourself.

We lost 3 ASMs, other folks are still a bit up in the air as to how this will all shake out.

The real number is 25,000 jobs effected through 1700 stores....

DM are now CSA5 with 12 months to find a permanent position or be termed...

And this is all being done during the Inauguration so the "Media" is focused on that and not 25,000 jobs being cut! By the time it becomes news it will be old news...

With the saving being seen after the DM begin to fade away to other jobs and Service Managers pickup ASM responsibility for less money!

My store is a 50M store lost 3 ASMs and 16 DM + OPE Specialist

Replaced by 8 Service/Support Managers while keeping 3 ASMs and a Sales Manager over Specialists and Pro Desk.

These are real numbers...
