Thread regarding Anadarko Petroleum Corp. layoffs

The layoffs are alive and well folks. 25+ have lost their jobs today. Don't let them fool you and tell you layoffs are done.

Big Al is cleaning up the Anadarko "house" getting it lean and pretty. Then he is going to sell it and enjoy his golden parachute package wrecking people's lives. Enjoy that money Big Al. Your judgement day will come.

They are for sure getting rid of the women managers and older men in this round of cutbacks. They are quietly disappearing. Before long, the company will be almost 100% young white men with little experience. In areas like the DB and DJ basins, the learning curve will be sharp. Good luck to us all who remain. APC is positioning itself to carefully and deliberately push employees out without providing severance. I do not know who is voting for this company as a top employer in Houston, but I suspect they have seen the end of that. Al Walker and his minions have ruined this company.

One year ago, February 1st (Monday), I opened my email and saw the message from R.A.W. mentioning that APC needed to reduce costs by reducing staff. I waited for the dreaded day to come which it did on March 10 when two people entered my office, closed the door, and handed me the blue folder. I was walked to the elevator and told to visit the 7th floor for additional information regarding my lay off. I can still remember that day and feeling as if it were yesterday.

The upsetting part is certain people refused to relocate and get put into a alternate role because they spend most yheir time under the directors desk, while others get canned immediately. Just look at the HSE Dept.

Are they rewriting everything as they go? Company relo package says a year to move but nothing surprises me nowadays! Go ahead APC make these moves even more appealing...I dare you!

I don't know what's worse, these secret layoffs or this tactic of forcing job moves and making conditions so undesirable that people leave the company. APC upper management is full of cowards and dishonesty to the core. Btw, all those moving to Midland, word on the street is if you're planning on commuting, the 75K will be revoked if family doesn't relocate by August.

It's so unfortunate that employees of APC have to spend their days agonizing about the potential layoffs. I remember sitting at my desk in the Denver office on that Thursday morning last March and hearing the knock on the door and two people enter the room with the blue folder. It's really sad that this is happening as there are those who depend on APC to support them. Now the only thing to do is wait for the axe to fall. Good luck everyone, there is life outside of APC as I can attest to. Be strong.

Hardly newsworthy, a corporation poking its employees from behind without their consent. And poking HARD.

That s---s if no severance is offered. They really took care of people back in march, and if it is a true layoff those going now should get some type of severance. Some people volunteered in March and still got the package. If this is how it is now then APC is really not the best company to work for. Being offered a job in Midland does not work for everyone, and you would be crazy to uproot here to go get laid off out there. Good luck to you guys.

That's not right we're you let go today and denied severance?

They are treating people differently based on who you are related to severance. That is classic discrimination! I'm not taking this "your job moved and if you don't - no severance" CRAP! APC HR - You've abolished my job and associated location and I'm due severance by the rules of your severance plan. For those of us who get denied severance - we need to ban together and get a class action law suit going. There's nothing but incompetent people in apc HR now and we must fight back!

Assets are almost all sold except for west Texas and Colorado. Bleeding will continue in 2017 as stuff is sold.

Across multiple verticals at all offices. Some were told it's a continuation of March layoffs
