Yes totally normal for them to meet with you. A lot o pressure to know whats going on in the channels so bau. Make sure to bring something to the table in your meetings.

I've traveled throughout multiple markets over many years, and I have never experienced a DOS meeting with managers weekly. They all have their own way though. Unless there is major performance issues or major direction needed, this would be the only thing I could think of for this type of weekly emphasis.
If this is a new development, there could be a more hidden agenda behind it.
