Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

What is going on with Q2 WFR in the UK?

People that volunteered still waiting for papers to sign almost a week after they should have got them.

The rest waiting to know what is happening and if they will be made compulsory redundant. Should be getting told that tomorrow but calls have not been set up. Lots of fed up people.

What is going on? Communication is non existant. HPE messing with people's lives again.

F---ing joke this sh--e like, if they know now why the f--- do they have to string this sh-- out?

They would be compleatly f---ed if everyone refused to work until they were told.

Does VR have the same or better terms as CR?

@5soz first thing i did when i came out of CR meeting 1 was book the leave I am owed backwards from the end of March.

If my job is redundant there is nothing to handover, right?

@5hwn I must admit the same thought had occurred to me too. Going from EDS to CSC is like trading in a VW for a Dacia

Yep same for me 8 out of 14 from my Team have to go by end of March although we have had VR every quarter for the past 3 years! We find out week of 17th March to do a handover by the end of the month.....Seriously do you think I will stick around for 10 days to to hand my job over to someone off the street offshore!

Best thing about this I won't have to associate myself with CSC

Not always so. I've seen VRs rejected then the same person gets CR'd in the same round.

Pressure from above will push anything through eventually.

You aren't garunteed to be accepted for VR, which means if they rejected your VR request you are safe and won't be CR'd....

Complete mockery TBH

CR = Compulsory Redundancy

VR = Voluntary Redundancy

In the UK pools of affected people are drawn up and a number of jobs to go identified. People then get an offer to apply for VR. If you are accepted you sign to go. If insufficient volunteers are agreed it goes to compulsory redundancy for which there are three meetings.

Mtg 1 = the whole pool is informed that they are 'at risk' in a group where N jobs will go

Mtg 2 = about 10 days later individuals are called and told they are either no longer at risk or that they have been selected to go

Mtg 3 = for those picked to go is about 10 days after that. At this call the redundancy is confirmed and paperwork detailing the payout gets signed.

You can appeal, but are unlikely to win, to be honest who wants to win when they will only target you 3 months later anyway?

What is a "CR" meeting?

Our team had our CR Meeting 1 yesterday.

Looks like we are losing about 30-40% of our staff.

The issue is that HPE already know who is going and who is staying so why on earth do they need to string it out?

"HPE messing with people's lives again"

Not in this day and age:

HPE re-calibrating the resource allocation status.
