Maximo works "great" at enbridge hahahahhahaahh oh man that is a good laugh. I have no idea how anyone continues to think this and keep the lie going. Maybe the software install is ok from an IT perspective? The actual data, the failure reporting, the maintenance planing is absolute trash and have been for a decade now with apparently no concerns from management since they still get their meaningless colorful reports with easy to read numbers to keep their mindless metrics going.

it's always been a half assed effort to tag and label equipment and enter data has left an absolute mess of incomplete and inconsistent entries and a horror show of emergency and critical equipment listings. Engineering, maintenance, labor planing, emergency and spare parts planing and budgeting all suffer and no one ever cared. The millions wasted as a result of no one ever having the balls or care to put money aside to systematically maintain this system is a shame.

So what is it at this point? a graveyard of old equipment, assets and spares that probably don't exist triggering maintenance, labor calculations and paperwork. And god help you if you are a front line maintenance worker as its your job to keep this mess in check and updated to appease sr. managements hard on for metrics.

From IT perspective, lock yourself into this trash program as it's going nowhere and is your gravy train until management clues in on how terrible and misused it is.

Spectra's Maximo roll out a few years ago was a total disaster, they spent 2 years trying to do live fixs. FINALLY they wrote off $20 MILLION and replaced it with something less bad when they went to SAP in 2012 in the U.S.. I think they spent additional monies on other bolt-ons in addition to what ever they mis-configured on SAP. People are still unhappy, can't order or get anything on time. Supply Chain (notice the vacate box on the Org chart) is in total disarray in Houston. I have suggested outsourcing to Wal Mart or Amazon in prior posts ....sad

If you are saying ??? You have installed Maximo at Enbridge and it works, great. You'll need to do a super marketing campaign with Houston folks to over come the bad taste they have left in their mouths - good luck

Heard users were very unhappy with Oracle - But they would've been just as unhappy with SAP or PeopleSoft .... It all comes down to correct setup and configuration - good luck on getting it right on the next upgrade

For the VPs who weren't named but didn't get fired, what will they be going forward? Directors? Wonder if there will be Directors reporting to Directors like with the VPs

The old Spectra Gas Pipeline ( the people who actually make money for us ) looks basically the Same and logical. Controllers looks good - AC is very competent his big challenge will be all the crapy IT systems that both companies already have to deal with.

IT - who knows - rumors in the wind is of course AN UPGRADE (always the go to answer) probably Oracle. The question is how bad they'll screw it up and how many "UPGRADE/FIXS" they can sell the higher ups on. Always job security there. A Darth Vadar approach is really needed here in dealing with the cycle of failure.

Some VPs who are not on the list may not have been cut but they won't be VPs anymore. So it would be a demotion for them. Guess that's better than getting the boot.

Read the fine print. Not all VPs who aren't on the list got cut.
