Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

How many in total this time? Was it limited to FT Faculty and Faculty Services? What's next and when?

This place has ruined so many lives. Deceptive, unethical. Students DO NOT even consider joining this place. Your degree will be worthless. I work for a major corporation and we immediately discard any ouop resumes.

I agree. Campus Chairs are a superfluous extra layer, IMHO. With a Dean, DAA and Area Chairs, there really is no need for the CC, and that would save about 70-80K times how many university-wide?

Campus Chairs need to GO. They literally do nothing, not even performance reviews of the former faculty. Not long ago they sent out an email telling faculty not to contact their CCs and route all questions to a general mailbox. They do NOTHING.

That's a good question. From what I have read of the new owners, they start at the bottom and work their way up. That seems to upset people less for some reason plus they worry that the higher up people will sabotage the company. My guess, if they follow their patter, is that next is lower level managers, such as the so-called 'Faculty Advocates' who do absolutely nothing except busy work, the 'Academic Affairs' managers, who do even less than the FAs, and they will retain either Campus chairs or Area chairs but determine they don't need both. Possibly first will be the remotely located workers, who can do less harm. They can simply lay them off and shut off their VPN access.
