The Woodlands, TX or Midland, TX - Which city do you prefer?

I'm curious to know your thoughts regarding The Woodlands and Midland. Specifically in terms of art, culture, and entertainment, which town holds the most value? I'm quite certain that Midland would be my first choice of towns to reside in. What about you?

The Woodlands (Houston) has more bars and restaurants which makes it a better city? Could someone please describe the outdoor activities one can partake in the Houston area? I suppose if you find entertainment in a bar than The Woodlands is for you.

Midland has nicer weather and less traffic. And it's closer to parks for outdoor recreation. Woodlands is better for everything else.

The Woodlands, and it isn't even a close race. Have you ever been to Midland?! There is absolutely nothing to do. The Woodlands has bars, restaurants, close-ish to Houston and activities. Lots going on. Whoever said Houston is a "g--" city has never been or is g-- himself.

Wow! Midland, Odessa, and Vidor! I'm quite certain all three towns invite one to explore the many outdoor activities including camping, cycling, camp fire sing-a-longs, and rattlesnake hunting. Plus, I can only image the opportunities to explore the rich and vibrant culture that all three towns maintain! Vidor, Texas...imagine the possibilities! Friendly, open-minded, educated, and culturally attuned people who are willing to accept your individual way of thinking.

There nothing good about Midland: although this does not relate directly to your question on the culture and entertainment, But the schools are rated some of the worst in the state of TX, medical is terrible and there are limited homes on the market. Odessa in close proximity to the Midland area is on the FBI list for most dangerous cities in the state. All these factors should give a small glimpse of what a hell hole midland is.

Live in Midland. Would not advise anyone to voluntarily move to this area. As far as night life, Odessa is not very far away. They have many gun & knife clubs over there. ie: They ask you at the door if you have a gun or knife, if not they ask if you want one.

If I were openly g-- I'd pick Houston, since it's a historically g-- city with a fabulous nightlife. But since I'm closeted for the foreseeable future I'd probably choose Midland.
