Reality has now set in. "So we're really really doing it" ---- Surprise
the LINK systems main support is a contractor who has been with Spectra for 30 years
The parts of the Financial systems in the U.S. "that function" are held together by 2 dedicated employees and 2-3 dedicated contractors
The big chunk of the $540 MILLION we promised the Street will come from flattening the organization, cutting redundant Corporate departments - you get ranked at 263 by Forbes by NOT being nice guys - the Street rewards or punishes you when you make the NUMBERS - as they say in the movies right before they pull the trigger "it's not personal it's just business"
Even worse for the New Enbridge since a lot of the critical work is done by contractors - keep the bad employees and shot for 300 on the Forbes list in 2018
don't think most folks are in denial but it is true that the company has usually been very reluctant to layoff employees and that's partially why we have so many contingent staff, it's easier to cutback on those.
