Too bad the ASM's can't find a way into a class action lawsuit based on discrimination. It seems live age and tenure weighed heavily with those decisions.

don't forget that they discriminate against g-- people. black people. Seem's like the only group my market doesn't discriminate against is women. :(
T management would hate to see bad press while they are trying to slime and lie their way in to a deal with TW.
We received a report in our documents that shows the position title, the age, if it was an AWG, the total number, The number selected to be surplussed and the number not surplussed. This, I am guessing, should be given out to all affected. After massaging this file into a usable format, it was clear that, for our org, if you were between 45 and 51, you were 3x more likely to be affected. It would be nice to have the tenure in there and or average salary (perhaps - still on the fence for that one)

I had eleven years with DIRECTV. I was let go last July ('16) after AT&T took over. Almost immediately afterward, my position was filled by an employee from another department, had less tenure, and nearly zero experience for the role. As that person is located in a state with a much lower salary range than the one I worked out of, I can't help but think wages played a big factor in my dismissal. It probably also doesn't help that I was over fifty years of age, either. However, good luck in trying to successfully sue a multi-billion corporation that has a very savvy legal department with a staff that's larger than the population of many small towns. AT&T has done several of these greedy, stockholder-coddling "reorganizations" over the past several decades, and they know how to play the game with all of their i's dotted and t's crossed. Even if a settlement was made in favor of the plaintiffs, it would probably take years to receive it, as AT&T has all the money in the world to appeal it on multiple levels.
