Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

No pension for new union workers, but the union fee will remain unchanged?

AT&T has proposed eliminating pension benefits for new hires, reducing the number of sick days, and paying one-third of the cost of health care insurance premiums, to union members, the CWA said. AT&T declined to comment on its specific proposals, but a spokesman said the company will continue seeking surplus declarations in the future

As a previous manager I can tell you the company is not worth many of you are young n for the benefits younare now getting you can do better somewhere else without having to deal with the micromanaging. Dont be afraid apply at other big companies it might take some time but AT&T employees are hard working n very intelligent you can do better

Trump not in charge of ATT. You may want to ask Randall what's up and why these changes are being made.

Or send a not to your local union lol

Sure, why don't we look to Trump to help working people. After all, he made lots of promises that some people actually believed.

Benefits. For years it has been the only reason to work for this joint. Chuck the pension, etc. and what do you have left? Time to look for an employer that pays you for what you are worth so you can recover these losses. Find some happy. You all deserve it.

ATT and the CWA will pull every string they can to block any investigation into the CWA. Do have any idea how many CWA members think they are being well cared for? Most don't have a clue and as stated in other posts , too many people don't check information on things.

Seriously, it's time for some AG to put together a RICO case on the CWA

Wow you just figured out the CWA only cares about dues not how they negotiate contracts that favor the people. Thing there may be a bit of collusion going on?

Look on your w2 for how much the company pays for your insurance. Now look at your last check stub for how much you paid last year. Add them together. In order for 32% to be a viable option, you should bargain for no less than a $3 per hour raise. Don't see that happening. . .

Most companies don't even have pensions anymore so it's not surprising.

It may affect all members but isn't the union supposed to negotiate a contract on behalf of its members? This always leads to some level of conflict within the union when new members find they are paying the same dues but not getting the same benefits. And therefore a useful tool in union-busting
