Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

GREEDY COMPANY only worried about lining their own FAT pockets and not caring about the workers making their money or elderly not eating

I truly feel horrible for all of the people that were informed that they are being laid off and only a 60 day notice. It goes to show just how greedy this company is. I don't understand how they are able to justify this lay off when they are supposed to receive 1 BILLION dollars from Aetna. They used the merger as an excuse to get workers to produce more NO MATTER what, using scare tactics to threaten them with. Now that the merger didn't go through they are now using peer average ( 18 attempts and 10 successful contacts) to get the sheep to produce for the BIG BAD WOLF and they do it. I wish the workers would understand that if we made less calls the peer average would go down. We have the power to do that. Lets work together to bring it down by taking our breaks, lunches and wellness time instead of sitting at our desks 8-10 hours to accomplish the impossible. When asked we have to say it's not possible to do what they want in an 8 hour day. I will not continue to work myself to the point of unhealthiness. Humana has shown not to care about their worker or members. They only care about lining their FAT pockets. I think the CEO and top money makers should take pay cuts! Is it fair that they make millions, while ppl are being laid off? This is what people should be picketing and boycotting about. The elderly are having to decide between medicine, food or paying bills, because of premiums and deductibles for medicine. RIDICULOUS!!

This is great site and we must spread this as way to finally communicate without fear! We should really find a way to reach out to some type of legal representation regarding set, unattainable, metric expectations within standard workdays and no overtime pay. Although we are salary, we have no flexibility in our schedule to meet our needs, family's needs, our health. We only have flexibility in working 10-12 hour days to survive ongoing threats of PIPS and potential termination. You are correct!!! We need to unite together and agree to not kill ourselves to make these unattainable expectations so that the metrics reflect they are going beyond what other employees are doing to achieve and is solely imposed on our department so that we are “set up to fail”, THAT is what makes it discriminatory. And by discriminatory, I mean illegal. This is totally a way to get us to quit so that they do not have to pay severance nor have to pay unemployment benefits! https://www.nela.org/NELA/
