We were told that this additional figure was for Europe but as they couldnt get through European labor laws quick enough the UK was an easy hit to clear the lot.

It means they have been grouped under various criteria, such as job code or location, and then a certain number of each pool will get a metaphorical 9mm to the back of the head
Total UK target is about 800
What does it mean that they "have been pooled"?
Pretty much everyone seems to have been pooled this time though the pools in ITO are not clear. Very few exceptions. Voluntary redundancy window open until 9th February. Then compulsories kick in. Last working day 29th March.
TEKsystems are already advertising affected Linux jobs to contractors.....
Anyone have more info on this?
Yes ABS is impacted I know of two pools so far... Not sure how many impacted...
